The Pack will be starting the annual Recharter process, where we update our official records, and collect the annual registration fees and the Scout Life magazine subscription fees to pay to BSA National. This should be completed no later than the December 9 den meetings. (Sooner is better.) Active Scouts who were registered before August 1, 2023 need to pay the recharter fees, either through the Pack, or direct to BSA through my.scouting.com. (If you are a new member and signed up after August 1, 2023, your registration is good for a calendar year from your signup date (probably through August or September), and you need to recharter direct with BSA National at My.scouting.org.) If you do not plan to continue with scouts, please let us know.
If you elect to pay registration fees direct to BSA, you will need your scout’s membership number, and log in at the BSA web site My.scouting.org. The fee will be $85 for BSA registration and $33 to council, and will be a 3% fee added to pay using a credit card for a total of $121.54. The Pack would still like to received a $50 pack activity fee.
If you elect to recharter through the Pack, the Pack will collect the annual $85 BSA National registration fee, plus the council’s activity fee of $33, plus a $50 annual pack activity fee for a $168 total, or with the optional $15 for Scout Life magazine $183 total, and turn this in to council to pay for each scout’s registration for the upcoming year. (Adult registration fees are $65 to BSA and $21 to council, for a total of $86.) No paperwork for the currently registered Scout is required, unless there are any changes in the scout’s address, or you would like to start Scout Life Magazine, or if there is any other status change, then this is a good time to make that change. Please try to get the $168 (or $183 with Scout Life Magazine) to Claude at an upcoming meeting. A single check for all fees made out to “Cub Scout Pack 734” would be welcome. Or you can Paypal the amount to: paypack734@gmail.com. (Include a note about who and what this is for.) If finances are a problem, please let Claude or a leader know.
Note to 2nd Year Webelos: Troop 734 has not charged an activity fee to P734 Cub Scouts who graduate to Troop 734, and the BSA national registration will transfer, so there is no additional cost to make that transition.
