Pack Campout March 25, 2023 CANCELLED

Update: March 22: We have cancelled this campout.

Pack 734 has a weekend campout planned for March 24-26. We will camp at the council’s Camp Brorein in campsite Seneca. The pack will provide meals for Saturday and Sunday morning. The pack will have activities, which hopefully will include a scavenger hunt, fishing, nature hikes, and obstacle course. We can also use the camp canoes, but there must be an adult swimmer in each canoe. There will be a Saturday evening campfire hopefully with skits, stories, S’mores, and a flag retirement ceremony. There will be opportunity for Scouts to complete portions of their adventures that cannot be done at the church. If you have a fun outdoor game, bring it.

All family members are welcome to participate. There is no cost for camping, but e would like to received $5 per adult to pay for food. If you need camping equipment, please see a leader. You can come for Saturday only; plan to arrive by 9AM, and stay through the campfire if you can.

We need to have pre-registration so we know how much food and supplies to bring. Please sign up at the Fire station meeting, or on Facebook, or you can let a leader know if you plan to attend.

Briefly, our menu is: Saturday breakfast: eggs, bacon, grits, oatmeal; Lunch: hot dogs, macaroni and cheese; Dinner: spaghetti, green beans; dutch oven deserts; Sunday morning: cold cereal, oatmeal, bagels. We will have water, lemonade, tea, milk, and fruit juice to drink. If you require snacks during the day, or drink other than water or lemonade, you can bring your own. We will have disposable plates, cups, and plasticware. Please bring your own re-useable drink cub/mug for use during the day. If you have special dietary requirements, please let us know.

Things you may find helpful: a chair and/or table; ideas for a skit/song/story at the campfire. There is no moon until late, so a flashlight will be useful. There is no need for the scout to bring a uniform shirt; our pack T-shirt would be appropriate.

As with all scouting events, please leave electronic distractions at home. Do not bring any weapons, alcoholic beverages, pets, or other questionable items. If you have a question about policy, see a leader, or check on the web site: Guide to Safe Scouting.
