Update: Jan 20. This is a requirement for the Safety adventure, which is a requirement for the rank award. If your scout did not attend the pack event, please watch it at home and let your leader know.
There is no school on Monday January 19, but Pack 734 will have a special presentation for youth self protection at the regular den meeting time. Parents are encouraged to attend. We will be showing the “Protect Yourself” videos, which is required as part of the rank advancement in their Safety adventure. These videos are about how children can protect themselves from child abuse. It is a good idea for a parent to view the age appropriate video in advance without the scout. If you would prefer, you can watch the video at home with your scout instead of at our meeting. If so, please let your leader know so this part of their adventure can be marked as completed.
There are 2 videos, one for K-3rd grade (vimeo.com/325064564) which is about 15 minutes, and one for 4th and 5th grade youth (vimeo.com/325064315) which is about 22 minutes. They will be shown separately, to the appropriate age group. The videos are produced by the Barbara Sinatra Center for Abuse Children, and endorsed by Scouting America.
