The Pack is hosting the “River Rats” outing on Saturday August 5 10AM at Crystal Springs Preserve. There is no cost to attend, and all Cubs, siblings, parents, and friends are invited to attend. (We would like to have an idea of how many will attend, so please send us an email or ??? to let us know.) Try to arrive by 9:45, so we can start all together at 10:00. Participants should wear shorts or pants that can get wet, and closed toe shoes (preferably that will tie on, so they stay on in mud) that can get wet/dirty. Bug repellant will be helpful. Crystal Springs Preserve is located west of Hiway 39, just into Pasco county. Turn West at the Crystal Springs Circle K on Central Avenue, and follow the road until it turns north onto Crystal Springs Road, and the entrance will be 100 yards north. (Or you can come down Crystal Springs Road from the north off Chancey Road.) There is a remote control gate, so sit in your car at the gate a moment until you are seen, and the gate will be opened. (If no response after a minute, turn on your headlights, tap your horn, and/or call a leader’s cellphone.) Part of the program is indoors in their classroom, so come even if the weather is poor. The program will last about 2 hours, and you are welcome to bring a picnic lunch and stay afterward.
